Caesars Superdome

Caesars Superdome

- New Orleans, Louisiana

Technical Hurdles: Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, the Louisiana Superdome required extensive MEP/FP repairs and upgrades under extremely compressed timelines. ADG was tasked with preparing the MEP/FP portion of the repair plans and overseeing all related construction work. The scope included restoring critical systems damaged by flooding and wind while integrating modern upgrades to improve performance and resilience. The sheer scale of the facility, combined with the urgency of the project, demanded meticulous coordination and technical precision.

Logistical Constraints:This $165 million repair project was designed, bid, and installed in just seven months—a fraction of the typical schedule for a venue of this size. The location in downtown New Orleans, combined with post-disaster conditions, posed significant logistical challenges for material delivery, workforce coordination, and system commissioning. All work had to be completed in time for the Monday Night Football debut on September 25, 2006, while accommodating concurrent enhancement projects totaling an additional $100 million.

Client Satisfaction & Benefits

The State of Louisiana and facility operators expressed exceptional satisfaction with the outcome, praising the quality, speed, and efficiency of ADG’s work. The project not only restored the Superdome to operational status but also elevated its performance through modernized systems. The building’s reopening became a national symbol of resilience, generating significant economic and cultural impact for the region.

Advanced Technology : ADG utilized integrated MEP/FP design and oversight to streamline construction and ensure compatibility across all building systems. Close collaboration with architects, structural engineers, and contractors allowed for rapid resolution of on-site challenges. In recognition of this achievement, ADG received National Engineering Excellence honors from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) at a black-tie event in Washington, DC.
