- Cameron, Louisiana
Technical Hurdles:Associated Design Group, Inc. provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) design services for the Cameron Parish Jail, located within the Cameron Parish Law Enforcement Complex. The facility was designed to accommodate up to 88 inmates, with specialized housing units for 16 women, 26 maximum-security men, 20 minimum-security men, 8 juveniles, 4 medical cells, 2 isolation blocks (2 each), and 10 holding cells.
Logistical Constraints:The design required careful coordination of life safety systems, secure HVAC, and resilient plumbing/electrical systems to meet strict state and parish codes. Given Cameron Parish’s storm-prone location, the infrastructure was engineered to provide reliable operation, secure environments, and resilience against extreme weather.
The completed jail provides a safe, secure, and efficient correctional environment with optimized systems to support long-term operations. The integration of advanced HVAC, modern electrical distribution, fire protection, and reliable plumbing systems ensures compliance with correctional facility standards while supporting security and durability.
Advanced Technology :Key systems included controlled HVAC for inmate housing blocks, dedicated plumbing for high-demand use, and fire protection systems integrated throughout the complex, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency.
