Fidelity Bank

Fidelity Bank is a 10,000-square-foot, two-story banking facility located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The project included full mechanical, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems designed to support a variety of spaces including office suites, conference rooms, secure bank equipment rooms, safe rooms, and covered drive-up banking lanes. A key design challenge involved developing an HVAC system capable of maintaining occupant comfort throughout the building despite the large amount of exterior glazing, which introduced varying solar loads throughout the day. The system also needed to provide flexibility for individual temperature control across multiple occupied spaces with differing usage patterns and occupancy demands.

The design needed to minimize visual and acoustic impacts associated with the building’s rooftop gathering and terrace space, as this significantly reduced the available area for mechanical equipment. Careful coordination of equipment locations, service clearances, and screening strategies were required during the design of this facility, with equipment placement and system layouts designed to maintain the architectural intent of the space while limiting the impact of mechanical noise on outdoor occupant areas. The building’s mix of public-facing spaces, private offices, secure banking areas, and drive-up operations also required thoughtful zoning and coordination of building systems to ensure efficient operation while maintaining occupant comfort and functionality throughout the facility.
