- Thibodaux, Louisiana
Technical Hurdles:Associated Design Group, Inc. provided the HVAC system design for this new technical college campus in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The design-build project included eight (8) chilled water variable air volume (VAV) air handling units serving VAV boxes with electric heat, ensuring reliable comfort and climate control for a diverse range of instructional spaces.
Logistical Constraints:The facility required a centralized, flexible HVAC solution to accommodate classrooms, labs, and support areas with varying load requirements. A web-based energy management system (EMS) was implemented to monitor and control the HVAC equipment, providing optimized efficiency, cost savings, and long-term maintainability.
The new HVAC system delivers energy-efficient performance while maintaining strict comfort standards for both faculty and students. With the integration of a web-based EMS, the college benefits from real-time monitoring, energy savings, and simplified system control, supporting the institution’s commitment to sustainable, cost-effective operations.
Advanced Technology :The project utilized variable air volume HVAC systems, electric reheat, and advanced EMS controls to achieve a high-performance environment, ensuring long-term reliability and adaptability for evolving campus needs.
