Technical Hurdles:Associated Design Group, Inc. provided comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) design services for the renovation and upgrades of McNeese State University’s Cowboy Stadium. Work included design for concessions, restrooms, press/media facilities, and locker rooms, as well as upgraded lighting and electrical distribution to meet NCAA football standards. HVAC and plumbing systems were engineered to support large event occupancy while maintaining durability and efficiency in a high-use collegiate athletic environment.
Logistical Constraints:The project required careful coordination to modernize stadium infrastructure while minimizing downtime for the football program. High-capacity electrical systems were integrated to support stadium lighting, broadcasting, and game-day operations. Code-compliant fire protection and life safety systems were also designed to ensure safe operation during large events, with a focus on resilience given the Gulf Coast’s storm-prone environment.
