Technical Hurdles:Associated Design Group, Inc. provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection design services for the new construction of the Sulphur 9th Grade campus. The facility includes a two-story academic building, two gymnasiums, locker rooms, and a full-service kitchen with cafeteria. The mechanical design incorporated a chilled water cooling system for reliable comfort, alongside a new plumbing and fire protection system.
Logistical Constraints:Electrical design featured direct/indirect suspended linear fluorescent lighting, decorative suspended HID fixtures in the cafeteria/commons, and acrylic reflector HID fixtures in the gymnasiums, balancing performance with aesthetics. Technology systems included an intercom with integral telephone access and a fiber optic backbone with star network design, providing a robust and scalable communications infrastructure to support academic and administrative functions.
