Tulane University Yulman Stadium
- New Orleans, Louisiana
Technical Hurdles:Associated Design Group, Inc. provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) engineering design for Tulane University’s Yulman Stadium. This facility, with a seating capacity of 30,000 fans and provisions for future expansion, returned “game day” excitement back to Tulane’s main campus. Support facilities include 28,400 square feet of premium club areas with bars, food service centers, restrooms, and a catering kitchen. A high-efficiency 1,500-ton chiller plant was designed to meet the stadium’s chilled water needs while also serving Tulane’s North Campus.
Logistical Constraints:The project required balancing high-capacity crowd demands with sustainability goals. The design incorporated LEED Silver certification strategies, energy-efficient stadium lighting, and advanced HVAC systems to support both fan comfort and long-term energy performance. Engineering challenges included designing infrastructure that could support future expansions and integrating efficient utilities across a large-scale, high-density facility.
